Virginia Beach is where Misdora calls home. Who is Misdora? She’s a poet that delivers like emcee, that’s without debate! If you ask her about her plans for the industry, she’ll tell you she is “bringing back real hip-hop the hip-hop THE DOPEST POET”. Undeniably, she is a dope poet. I came across her work on Instagram, she was just dropping some bars for the gram. Glad I stumbled on her page, it led me to find this piece of work from the Virginia poet/rapper.
Misdora releases the music video and visuals for her song called “Hands Up Don’t Shoot”. We want to advise you, the video you’re watching may be disturbing to some people, and contains footage with graphic nature, so viewer discretion is advised. It does not contain gore or anything like that, but it does contain injustice being commited against Black Americans. Unfortunately, I have to externally link to this video, as it is “Age-Restricted” and can ONLY be watched on YouTube:
The video is very powerful, and is matched equally by the lyrics that Misdora provides. A great display of amazing poetry used to portray a strong message, #BlackLivesMatter. The music video is about the injustice & racial brutality that Black Americans have been facing, and are still facing today. The beat choice was a perfect fit as the dark style drill beat sets the tone for the imagery we’re presented with in the video. Additionally, it also highlights the pain and suffering Misdora wants to you to understand with the bars she’s delivering. Stay tuned, you can bet we’ll have more to come from this talented artist.
